NEW Ph.D. Assistantship available — FILLED

A highly qualified and motivated candidate is sought to develop a PhD study on the broad topic of fish and fisheries ecology, genetics, and conservation in the Jurua River in the Brazilian Amazon.  This is part of a larger, international, interdisciplinary project, called BONDS – Balancing biOdiversity conservatioN with Development in Amazon wetlandS, which involves six countries (FR, BR, DE, NO, UK, US) and in the U.S. is sponsored by NSF.  The funding package will be 50% GRA and 50% GTA, plus field and travel funds.  Stipend is ~2060/mo.

Applicants must have: (i) a M.S. in ecology, fisheries, or related field; (ii) strong record of involvement in research; (iii) prior experience in the peer-reviewed publication process.  Fluency or familiarity with Portuguese or Spanish is a plus.  The selected candidate will have full tuition, stipend, and subsidized health insurance.  Anticipated start is Summer 2019.
